Is Your Body Aging Too Fast?
Since your chronological age is actually different than your biological age, it would be good to pay attention to your body’s overall health. This way, you can still look and feel young even if your chronological age tells you that you are getting along in years. If you don’t take care of your body, your biological age may even seem to be higher than your actual age. And that would really make you feel and look older than you really are.
Signs of Aging
As one grows old, the skin will tend to lose its moisture and elasticity. While this is quite normal, there are certain things that you can do in order to address this problem. Like eating food sources that are high in water, for example; as this can help bring moisture back to your skin. Proper diet also plays a major role, as having the right amounts of vitamins and minerals will make your body more adaptable to the changes that are happening in the system as one grows older.
Lines, Wrinkles and Sagging Skin
When you observe that your skin is starting to sag or develop some lines and wrinkles, it is definitely a sign that you are aging. But there are ways to combat this. You can increase your intake of highly nutritious food like fruits and vegetables; and the antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals contained therein can help heal your skin. Since these are also loaded with fiber, any toxic elements in your system can be flushed out too.
Water retention is common when the body starts to age. And sometimes, this symptom can be seen on one’s eyes, as the eyelids become droopy because of the excess fluids. More often than not, diet can influence this symptom too. Like if you are constantly taking in salty foods, it will make it harder for your body to release excess fluids. So you can change your unhealthy diet to a healthy one so as to avoid having this type of problem as you grow older.
Uneven skin tone and the appearance of patches is another sign of aging biologically. Even your skin texture can have that dry and flaky feeling; and sometimes it can even be a bit itchy. One of the things that you can do to relieve this symptom is to cut down on your intake of caffeine. So if you are constantly drinking coffee, you may need to cut down a little as over-caffeine can lead to dryness. However, this is not to say that coffee is bad for you, since it is also loaded with antioxidants that are good for your body in general.
Tips to Avoiding Stress
So far, you have seen that some of the signs of aging can be combated by a simple change in one’s diet. But since premature aging is also related to stress, this factor needs to be looked at closely too. The best stress busters are exercise and positive line of thinking. So always aim to have a life that’s free from emotional stress.
